The Science of Learning
We all know how people learn - we've been doing it all of our lives. But do we really know?
There is so much research that has been done on learning and a fair bit of it has been done on humans. We know, from cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and controlled classroom studies, so much about how we learn but very little of that research ever makes it into the classroom. Teaching is an art based on centuries of tradition and has changed very little in the last thousand years.
In this module you will explore how we learn. Not how we think we learn, but how we really learn. I promise you that you will be surprised by what you learn about learning. And when you find yourself in a state of disbelief, just explore a different part of learning or education. All you need to make sure of is that you have robust, empirical evidence to back up what you are saying. This module has caused almost every student I have taught disillusionment with education in general. By week 10, you'll have documented growth in Critical Thinking, Logic, and Deductive Reasoning and you'll have the time of your life getting there.
